Longtime Raiders owner Al Davis has passsed away today at the age of 82.

In 2007 Davis said he would not retire until he "wins two more Super Bowls or dies." Unfortunately the Raiders have struggled in recent years making a Super Bowl unattainable.

The Raiders won three championships under Davis in 1976 (XI), 1980 (XV), and 1983 (XVIII).

They were always known for their hard nose mentality which stemmed from the leadership Mr. Davis provided.

He hired 14 head coaches, twelve which offensive background.
